Johan Gustavsson (Stockholm 1978) woont en werkt in Den Haag. Hij maakt gebruik van verschillende media zoals fotografie en video, maakt ruimtelijke beelden en installaties, maar ziet zichzelf toch vooral als tekenaar.
More and more my works are results of a concentrated action, almost a meditative state of mind. Where I'm able to connect to all things I have ever seen, heard or experienced. Intuition is the key to all the experiences, knowledge someone possesses. Thoughts concerning aesthetics, the artist's position in the art-world and how it can relate to the way we experience life. With this in mind, drawing has always been the most natural and direct medium for me.
